It was the most touching poem that I have ever read!

Very touching, I can relate the sentiment, sad yet hopeful. Such is life! Your poem is not just a simple short piece, it has exuberated profound significance deep down. I had tears in my eyes by the time I finished reading the piece, I’m sure I'm not the only one.

NL

What a sweet memory, it touched my heart. It is the life that memory can be so beautiful.

FD

So beautiful and moving. It brought me to tears and made me recall my own long-gone father.

This poem really caught my eye. It’s so well-developed!

KL

What a wonderful, bittersweet comparison; the young and the old.

SH

Your poem inspired me to want to write a poem remembering my parents, but alas, where is my inspiration?

JK

Thank you for sharing this touching expression of love for your father and granddaughter.

My father was just about the same age as your father and my eldest granddaughter is almost the same age as yours, so this poem lands close to my heart. As we enter our elder years, our memories of our departed loved ones and observations of our youngest ones remind us of the circle of life, as your poem so eloquently describes.

CH

This is wonderful. It brought me to tears!

It reveals that such ordinary gestures of extending one's hands to another can bring two people close together emotionally as well as physically.  The poem also reveals that extending one's hands to another can bridge the generations and that walking can take us places in the imagination or the heart, which transcend the journey's destination.
