FEEDBACK FROM READERS OF WISDOM

LR

It’s a wonderful poem, succinct with motion and layers to it.

This poem is certainly short and deep... I think the people who can relate to this poem, and are very much touched by it immediately, would be older folks who acquired wisdom through experiences in real life.  We can stand back and see what is underneath the surface...

Life is beautiful and worth living every moment of it. Even the last moment of Autumn leaves is bidding goodbye to sprig and dancing Waltz with the swirling wind, till finding a place to land and rest. Thus, one doesn't have time to count the breaths and blessings while enjoying the magical instant of enlightenment".

Even though this is a short poem, every word counts towards gaining wisdom through a moment of enlightenment while walking in the woods. I like your metaphor of fall leaves dancing in a Waltz, while swirling in the wind and finding a place to rest. Thus, aging gracefully, going out with style and living every day to the fullest is true wisdom to us.

Gravity always wins! Humans are good at manufacturing delusions to justify their existence, but biology overcomes that too. I have studied human behavior and it never ceases to amaze me.

Wonderful observation.  I would love to see all life this way.  I got out on an early morning walk before going to the hospital with my daughter, and the birds were out singing, sun was out and just rising.  It has been cold and windy, but gorgeous this a.m.  It was so good outside after three days of rain.

Sound mysteriously wonderful!

I like it a lot. So the title, Wisdom, was what you gained? That you started to see the leaves with some wisdom?

Thank you Livingston!

Loveliness!

AUTHORS RESPONSE #1

Last year, when I was in the Boston suburbs, walking near my daughter’s home, I witnessed one leaf falling from a rather tall tree in front of me.

The leaf knew when to bid goodbye, lived the last couple of moments with some joy, danced a little, glided with the wind and found a spot on the ground to land and rest.

I thought the leaf was teaching me something,

the word that came to my mind right away was “Wisdom.”

A truthfully rarest occasion, I felt a little wiser and did not feel bad about getting old and falling. Haha.

You read my mind. After I read your short poem, I was wondering what did that leaf teach you? Now I understand what went through your mind when the leaf did her joyful, last performance. At Rossmoor and Stoneridge, we see lots of people. Some are already in the gutter, even if they are still walking and talking. Some are performing beautiful dances, even if part of their bodies are not functioning. One gentleman danced while holding two walking canes on St. Patrick’s Day while a live band performed. He was all clad in green.

What else except wisdom? Fate? Paradise? Heaven on earth...........

I was just outside raking our garden, what a perfect poem to read right now! Congratulations! A wonderful springtime poem is a great way to welcome the season.

One friend, who is a physicist said: An apple brought us gravity; a leaf shows us how to live towards the end of life: have some joy, dance a little, glide with the wind and then find a spot to land and rest.

May we live the autumn of our lives as joyfully, wisely and peacefully as the leaf that fell in front of you.

Ah ha! A truly beautiful lesson from a leaf! Thank you for sharing this with me, I also feel wiser and better for it.

A famous Bible teacher who was a physics professor said: one should not feel bad when they get old, as long as they are not falling from the grace of the Lord.

I enjoyed reading your philosophical thoughts.  We do not feel bad about getting old, as long as we are not falling from the grace of the Lord.
