Livingston Rossmoor

I Draw a Line in the Sand

from the book "I Hear the Ocean Landing"

I carry my own opinion,
time to retreat,
time to advance,
to jump, to rise,
to burst forth,
to create a dialogue with
the circulation of the heavens.*
To ebb along,
to oscillate,
to group,
to regroup,
to line up with every pulse.

The trace, the rhythm, the pattern,
reflect my own thinking.
My mind has never changed.
My decisions firm.
My conclusions always
logical and confident.
Without a doubt,

*Al-Bitruji (Died 1204 C.E.), contributed the notion that the tides are caused by the general circulation of the heavens.
